When the furnace season ends in April, the furnace ash is soaked in water to remove the lye till mid summer around Doyo in late July.
The ashes are dried in the sun, poured with boiled tea and dried, and sifted many times. Then they got fine-textured ashes with abeautiful color and faint scent of tea.
The ashes are used from the start of the furnace in November till April again.
It’s a hard work, but is one of joy for tea ceremony lovers to watch the ashes growing beautifully year after year.
