Hatsu-Gama, New year ceremony.
January.11,2022The first tea ceremony called Hatsu-Gama is held for his/her students to start lesson of new year.
To say Hatsugama in Japanese, it means boiling the water in the hearth firstly in a year.
We celebrate new year over combination of the special decoration of the tea room such as Kakejiku (hanging scroll) and flowers etc in Tokonoma (=alcove) and tea accessories.
The unique Japanese sweets served at Hatsu-Gama is named Hanabira Mochi (=flower petal rice cake) having Gobo (=burdock) and bean paste Miso mixed in the mochi.
